Ajman Prayer Times

Ajman is the smallest emirate in the UAE, and that smallness shapes its prayer life in a way no other emirate shares. Everything is close: the Corniche, the neighbourhoods, the mosques. But Friday prayers here need more planning than anywhere else in the country, because not every mosque in Ajman holds Jummah — and on a Friday, that one fact decides whether you pray inside or outside. Start with the live timetable below, then read the Friday section before you head out.

Today’s Prayer Times in Ajman

This is the live IslamicFinder feed for Ajman, updated daily. Change the date on it for another day, or open the monthly view for the full month.

Treat the feed as the day’s truth and nothing older. Sunrise and sunset drift through the year, so every prayer time drifts with them, and a timetable printed even a fortnight ago will already be off by several minutes.

Friday Prayers Need a Plan in Ajman

This is the most useful thing on this page, and it comes from Ajman’s own worshippers, not from a timetable. The National has reported that Friday prayers in Ajman are held only in specific mosques, not in every mosque, and that overcrowding on Fridays has in past years left worshippers praying in the streets outside. Awqaf has since added mosques across the emirate — the count reported stands above 300 — and each new mosque holds between 600 and 2,000 people, but the Friday rule has not changed: Jummah happens in designated mosques, and those fill up.

What that means in practice: pick your Friday mosque in advance for Jummah namaz, and get there early. The emirate’s biggest mosque, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, holds 2,500 worshippers, and it is the natural first choice for a Friday congregation. The contrast is worth knowing too: the same worshippers report no crowding problem for Taraweeh during Ramadan, when the evening prayers spread comfortably across the emirate’s mosques. Friday midday is the pinch point; the rest of the week is not.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque and the Neighbourhood Mosques

Ajman’s Sheikh Zayed Mosque — not to be confused with Abu Dhabi’s Grand Mosque — stands on a plot of about 37,000 square metres and was officially opened by the Ajman ruler, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid. Its 2,500 capacity makes it the emirate’s largest mosque and its Friday centre of gravity. Around it, the city’s prayer life runs through neighbourhood mosques in Al Nuaimiya, Al Jurf, the Corniche, Al Suwan and Al Safia, among others, with Awqaf’s stated aim that the gap between mosques in any area should be no more than about 500 metres. In a city this compact, that aim is close to reality: wherever you are in Ajman, a mosque is rarely far away.

Ajman Against the Clock

Ajman sits east of Abu Dhabi, so its sun rises first and its prayers run ahead. The gap is small but real, and the live feeds prove it: on 22 October 2026, the IslamicFinder widget showed Fajr at 5:02 AM in Ajman against 5:06 AM in Abu Dhabi, and Maghrib at 5:46 PM against 5:52 PM. Four to six minutes is the kind of difference that matters if you are fasting or catching a congregation, and it is exactly why you should use Ajman’s own salah timetable rather than a neighbouring emirate’s. The UAE follows Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4) all year with no daylight saving, so these gaps never jump by an hour — they only drift by minutes with the seasons.

Ramadan Nights in Ajman

Ramadan in Ajman is calmer than its Fridays. The fast opens at Maghrib and Sehri ends at Fajr, both from the timetable above, and the evening Taraweeh prayers spread across the emirate’s mosques without the Friday crowding problem. Working hours across the UAE are cut by two hours a day during Ramadan, which shifts the whole city’s rhythm towards the night prayers. If you are visiting during Ramadan, the practical advice is the same as for Fridays in reverse: evenings are comfortable, Friday midday needs a plan.

Qibla Direction From Ajman

From Ajman, the Qibla points roughly west, at about 258 degrees from north — essentially the same bearing as neighbouring Sharjah, and a touch further south of west than Abu Dhabi’s roughly 260. As in every emirate, the number is a backup: Ajman’s mosques face the Qibla by construction, and prayer rooms mark it. It earns its keep when you pray somewhere without a marker — on the Corniche, at the beach, or on the road — and a phone compass set to about 258 degrees will point you right.

Prayer Times in Other Emirates

Ajman is wedged between Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain, and plenty of its residents pray across the border on any given day — which is where the minute-differences start to bite. Dubai’s times run behind Ajman’s, Abu Dhabi’s further behind still, and Ras Al Khaimah, further east again, runs ahead. Frequently Asked Questions

Which mosques in Ajman hold Jummah?

Not every mosque in Ajman holds Friday prayers — Jummah is held in designated mosques, with the Sheikh Zayed Mosque (capacity 2,500) the largest. Check with your local mosque whether it holds Jummah, and arrive early on Fridays.

Why do people sometimes pray outside mosques on Fridays in Ajman?

Because Friday congregations have in past years exceeded the capacity of the designated Jummah mosques. Awqaf has added many mosques since — the emirate’s count stands above 300 — but Friday midday remains the busiest prayer of the week, so early arrival matters.

How many mosques are there in Ajman?

More than 300, according to Awqaf figures reported by The National, with each mosque holding between 600 and 2,000 worshippers and the Sheikh Zayed Mosque the largest at 2,500.

Is Fajr earlier in Ajman than in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, usually by a few minutes. On 22 October 2026, for example, the live feed showed Fajr at 5:02 AM in Ajman against 5:06 AM in Abu Dhabi. Use Ajman’s own timetable rather than Abu Dhabi’s.
