Palm Jumeirah is the palm-shaped island: trunk, fronds, and crescent. Nakheel Mall, The Pointe, Aquaventure, and Palm West Beach are different pins on this directory. The Palm Monorail is not the Dubai Metro; it is a separate paid hop along the trunk.
How visitors actually arrive
Red Line to Dubai Marina or JLT, then taxi or monorail. Driving the trunk at sunset is slow. The Beach / JBR is next door but not “on the Palm.”
Public versus hotel
Much of the shoreline is hotel or club. Public-access promenades exist at The Pointe and parts of West Beach — still check ropes. Photograph viewpoints of the skyline are not the same as a free swim.
