How to get to Kite Beach without a car
There is no Metro station on the sand. The useful pair is Bus 81 along Jumeirah Beach Road (Al Ghubaiba to Jebel Ali, stopping behind the beach) or the Red Line at Equiti (Max) plus a short taxi. RTA publishes Bus 81 on the S’hail map; do not assume every “beach bus” on a blog is still numbered 81 — check the live board. From Downtown, ride to Equiti rather than Dubai Mall and then walk 40 minutes in summer heat.
Facilities, hours and rules
Public access is free. Showers, toilets and changing rooms sit behind the main kite zone; kiosks sell water, shawarma and smoothie bowls with shorter hours than the sand. Swim between lifeguard flags when they are posted. Swimwear stays on the beach: cover shoulders and knees when you cross Jumeirah Beach Road for a taxi. Alcohol belongs inside licensed venues, not on the public sand. Drones need a permit — UAE aviation rules apply here as they do on every public beach.
What to combine with Kite Beach
Sunset Beach and Black Palace Beach sit south toward Burj Al Arab; La Mer and Jumeirah Open Beach sit north. Mercato Mall is the nearest indoor backup if the shamal wind is too strong for families.
